Dear Gent,
Various references have been made
in recent despatches to the report of an "Anomalies Committee" dealing with various matters arising out of the new salary scales introduced last year. H.E. is awaiting the views of heads of departments and interested officers on this report before sending Home his definite recommendations, and it occurred to me that you might find these references a little irritating and mysterious and with H.E.'s approval I am enclosing a copy of the report semi-officially so that you may have some idea of what the despatches are talking about.
Yours sincerely,
G.E.J.Gent, Esq., 0.B.E.,
Colonial Office,
LONDON.
